Call for Papers

 

The International Journal of Policy Studies (IJPS)invites submissions of original, high-quality manuscripts for publication in this peer-reviewed international journal. As the official journal of the Korean Association for Policy Studies, IJPS is committed to publishing rigorous and innovative contributions to the study and practice of public policy.

 

IJPSaims to advance both theoretical and analytical understanding in the field of public policy while broadening the scope of scholarly inquiry within the discipline. The journal welcomes a diverse range of topics, methodological approaches, and conceptual perspectives, with an emphasis on balancing descriptive, explanatory, and evaluative research. We encourage submissions on, but not limited to, the following topics:

  1. analyses of public policy and administrative developments across national and international contexts
  2. empirical, and methodological insights into public policy
  3. on emerging trends, pressing issues, and innovative practices in public policy
  4. approaches to addressing complex public challenges and fostering policy innovation

 

Types of Articles

IJPS publishes two main types of submissions:

[1. Original Articles] Original Articles should advance the theoretical and analytical advancement of public policy scholarship. These manuscripts are expected to offer well-developed arguments, empirical analysis, or conceptual innovations. Submissions should not exceed 9,000 words, excluding references.

[2. Short Articles] Short Articles provide a concise platform for presenting novel ideas, empirical findings, or emerging perspectives. These are divided into two formats:

  1. Notes: Notes present empirical studies that highlight innovative methodologies, apply existing methods in new ways, or replicate prior research with updated data or alternative approaches. (Length: 3,000~5,000 words).
  1. : Perspectives articles present conceptual or theoretical pieces introducing fresh arguments, frameworks, or agendas aimed at stimulating scholarly dialogue and future research direction in public policy. (Length: 3,000~5,000 words).

Authors are encouraged to review the full submission guidelines available at: https://kaps.or.kr/?p=23 All submissions will undergo a double-blind peer review process based on initial editorial screening and evaluation by at least two anonymous reviewers.
