IJPS Features

Articles

IJPS includes a wide range of original articles from theoretical, analytical, explanatory, and evaluative research in the broad field of public policy. Articles should promote the quality work. Manuscripts should be no longer than 9000 words, including the abstract, the body of text, tables and figures, and references. Manuscripts should be prepared in the following order: abstract; keywords; main text; notes (as appropriate); acknowledgments (as appropriate); references; appendices (as appropriate). Authors should submit manuscripts electronically to Editor in Chief at kapsedi@kaps.or.kr.

Policy Debates

IJPS welcomes a short debates format that takes contrary or complementary standpoints on timely policy topics. Contributions are expected to apply theoretical and/or empirical standards to a recent phenomenon and/or provide novel ideas and applicable lessons for their claims. A policy debates manuscript should be written to be accessible to the broader audience of policy scholars and practitioners. Manuscripts should be 3000-5000 words in length. Authors interested in contributing to the policy debates section should contact Editor in Chief at kapsedi@kaps.or.kr.

Book Reviews

The Book Review feature aims to provide a venue for scholars and practitioners in public policy studies and practices to discuss timely-relevant and historically-significant topics, theories, and practices in academia and the field. The main areas for the book review would be, but not limited to the following areas: comparative studies of public policy with administrative developments in the international field of action; theoretical, empirical, and methodological insights to the study of public policy in a national, comparative, or international context; and constructive debate on current trends, issues, and practices in public policy. The book review may introduce the main themes and arguments of the author; locate the book in the policy study literature; discuss the theoretical, empirical, and practical implication; identify targeted or potential audience (e.g. the general public, scholars, public policy makers); and add an overall assessment of the book. If the book is an edited collection, the book reviewer may give the reader an overview of the book, state the reviewer's points with examples from one or more chapters, or identify chapters that are most interesting and worthy discussing from the public policy study stand point.

The review should be 1000-1500 words in length following the order: a title of the book review, book information (authors, title, publisher, year, total page, price, ISBN), the body of the review, and the author's short biography. Please follow the same style instructions as those noted for regular manuscripts. Authors interested in contributing to the book reviews section should contact kapsedi@kaps.or.kr.

General Guidelines for Authors

Manuscript Submission

A manuscript should be submitted electronically to Editor in Chief, David Oliver KASDAN, at kapsedi@kaps.or.kr.

Review Process

A manuscript is checked for suitability for the Journal once submitted by the Editor-in-Chief. If accepted for review, at least two anonymous reviewers are chosen by the editors to comment on content of the submitted manuscript. The editors make an informed decision to accept or reject the manuscript, considering well thought-through reviews from peer reviewers.

The editors are committed to providing authors with timely turnaround when processing submitted manuscripts. The standard timeline for the full review of a manuscript will take eight to twelve weeks after receiving the manuscript.

IJPS uses a blind peer review process, so please remove any indications of authorship in the body of the manuscript. The author(s) name, affiliation, and contact information should be listed on a separate page preceding the title page of the manuscript.
